Default Swimming in Broccoli or Feasting Budgie Style

Finally I got my Green Grocer to get some more Broccoli sprouts in
- the ones that are growing in a soil-less potting medium. They're Organic. I re-potted them into a terra cotta pot & they sit atop his cage, in the sunlight. He can climb all around them thanks to his extra long Boing - it may never end up hanging from the ceiling.

A lone shot - back lit too.

Here he is investigating the Broccoli & then he's romping around in it! He flattened it but today it's sprung back to life.
Here he is feasting - notice his poor wee head - well he has next to no tail as well - just one vulnerable Indigo tail feather.

Wonderful! I'll bet Jerry would like that too.

Poor Laker, his head loooks like it must be itchy! Is he allowing any bathing to help get those loose?

Bathing! I haven't had any progress there - not since the one time when he jumped into the sink.

Well he's getting a morning shower each day - lets put it that way. Maybe by week 2 he'll get the idea it's fun. It is helping of course. I've offered many times to give him a scratch but the loud twitters & mock biting is off putting. You know he never bites me when i try. Maybe because i'm laughing so hard - I don't sound too threatening.

I misted his greens today, I think he was horrified [but i'm not sure - he stayed away].

At Laker being horrified that you wet his greens! Maybe one day he will realize that bathing can be fun.

what a cutie - he sure seems to have fun... i bet valo would love that too....

so, laker doesn't wanna bathe? hmm... we had the same problem with bella at the beginning, but she eventually came around after millions of attempts....
valo hates the spray bottle, until he saw pita enjoying it - when we visited gayla for pita's hatchday party he was all about getting soaked with the spraybottle

A big OOps
- Hi guys - it has been pointed out to me that Laker should not be molting like this, at this time!!!!! I thought other's were molting too????

I must admit i was worried [i noticed Sarah said Jerry was itchy - but he didn't look like Laker or she's have said something]- thought all birds did the new feathers thing spring & fall. & this was such a big one too. He's almost naked & his cere is darker too.

Apparently a 'fake' molt can happen because of protein in the diet - a sudden change in diet which leads to more protein. Well the only thing different in his diet is his interest in the sprouts. His interest has increased over the last 3 months. The last batch has gotten pretty mature & that's why i bought some new ones yesterday. I was even going to add egg to his diet tomorrow, thinking it would help him deal with the feathers.

Oh I'm pretty confused right now.
