I have never tried this on a bird but what about a drop of eucalyptus oil in a humidifier? It works like magic for human babies. Maybe ask a vet as budgies live in eucalyptus.

Thank you for all your concern. After 2 doses I can already tell Spice is better. Not as much sneezing. Also I think the sinus flush at the vets helped a lot.

Sarah, I asked the vet this question and she said it was very unlikely he could pass it on to Sugar and didn't feel they needed to be separated.

2horse, thank you for the suggestion about the humidifier. as luck would have it I just gave one away but I am sure I can find one on Freecycle. I actually have Budgie butter which is made from eucalptus leaves and is oily. I think that might work.

I really hope we nip this in the bud as the vet bills have been high.

This is an interesting thought!

I'm glad that Spice is doing much better already, Nancy!

What a relief that he's showing improvement so fast. I bought a relatively reasonable humidifier at the drug store or like Walmart....i love it because it's easy and all plastic and i dont worry about bacteria so much.

it's called Sunbean Healthy Home and it's got a blue cannister. It's a good size for the money it will do easily a bedroom, say 17 x17 especially with the door closed.

For a living room I have to put it right near the birds so I am going to buy a second one for the larger rooms.

I think it was about 30.00. Use distilled or de clorinated water because if not the minerals go in the air and also WORSE you get a thick white film on the furniture. Which I assume is what goes right on the poor birds if we use various tap water. Like mine, FULL of chlorine and minerals.
