How did the vet appointment go?

Well,Spice has another sinus infection. They did a sinus flush and saw a lot of bacteria. He is back on Baytril 2x aday for 2 weeks. Giving Spice meds by mouth is not a fun thing to do. He fights me all the way. The vet could actually hear him whistling through his nose. He also sneezed on cue. She said the first infection may not have totally cleared up. I need to mist him frequently. The steamy bathroom is a good idea. If he starts sneezing again after this dose of meds I am to give him some special nosedrops. fun, fun, fun.
At least Spice was a good boy and didn't bite and tried to look cute. He weighed 48 gr which the dr. said was more than some of her lovebirds.
I read somewhere that kohlrabi is good for sinus problems. Does anyone know anything about this?

Too bad Spice has another infection.....hope he has a speedy recovery! Poor little guy.

I don't, just know it's a good calcium source.

I've heard putting Cayenne on moist food is supposed to help clear sinuses.

I was trying to do some research on kohlrabi and it did say it's a great source of vitamin C so maybe that has something to do with it? Maybe it's simply to help enhance the immune system just like vit. C does for us? Couldn't really find anything other than that, sorry. It did say that for parrots though that if you juice the kohlrabi that you can mix pineapple juice with it to make the birds want to drink it.

I hope the sinus infection clears soon and that he takes his meds ok. Poor guy. Is this something that can pass to Sugar?

Poor baby. Poor you too - i can't think of anything more frustrating than giving meds.

Yesterday Rio snorted/sneezed right into my face - quite a wet one - EWWWWWWWWW. But it doesn't seem to be more than a nose clearing. Laker gives gentile snorts - all the time.

Did the Doctor think it would be contagious for Sugar? - or Parsley?
