Thanks! It is much more amusing than anything on the TV (and often more than what I bring home in my briefcase)

Hi Laker & Rio! Hi, fellow budgie owners! My flock is busy here at home, they just figured out that playing with their rings, bells and balls are fun and they are so adorable when they try to get on the rings to swing. What are other good toys for them? They are so playful, maybe they need more toys?

I'm all about natural 'chewable' toys for my Budgies.
Sarah brought a lovely woven basket that has been put away for a month or 2. See post #14 in http://www.parrotchatter.com/f20/sar...it-5495-2.html I try & change ours around a lot. Mine love chewing woven grasses. They also delight in stripping the bark off the grapevine branches. They tried that with the tree gym I made but I ended up sanding it off as their poops were a tad runny. With the grapevine they just make a mess on the table & don't seem to eat any.

Totally!

Loved the photo as well. Too bad the Budgies weren't bigger. That's the problem! Bigger Budgies!

tj & Jojo are looking a bit rough - are they still in molt? I know you started a thread about tj's beak - hope we can fix that - he's such a sweetie.

It had to be the longest molt on history around here. Rio & Laker have finally stopped molting & are looking better. Laker is still missing a bead in his necklace. I hope they don't have a heavy spring molt like Laker did last year.

Maybe they all could do with some egg in their diets.

My husband placed a tree gym in their cage as well, they like stripping the bark off as well - this doesn't seem to affect their health so I just let them strip away. I asked the attendant at the pet store when I got my first batch, he said the budgies loved the rings and the swings so I got activi-toys of colorful rings, bells, balls and mirrors. They're not natural though - but my budgies love them. They swing on the rings, have fun moving through the rings, chew on the chain and balls. They jump on the mirrors and swing on them while watching their reflections. I love watching them play. Especially when they are first figuring out their toys. I have not gotten them those chewable woven grasses yet, I will try them out next time I go to the pet store. Thanks for the tip

Laker is in full molt again!

I think he took a 2 -3 week break before starting again. It looks like a full blown one this time. He's naked just above his cere.

I wonder is it has to do with the heating in our home? - with this being a cold & 'snowy' winter we've had the heaters on a lot. My own skin is terribly dry.

The boys seem pretty happy & frisky. I was worried I hadn't been giving them enough greens - so added a corsage of greens [spinach/lettuce/aragula(sp)] to their 'wild water' saucer this past week. They are nibbling - some.

It must be this crazy winter that we're having because my boys have been molting forever too. Right now Winston seems to be over it but Jerry has a few new pins again - I just hope they don't go into a heavier molt again because we've already been there and done that in the past few months with both of them!
