"Sir Winston" ... one handsome Budgie! I love his color ... it's so unique. I'd like to get an English Budgie someday. I think Pogo is 1/10 th English since he fluffs up his head feathers kind of like an English Budgie sometimes.

I often feel the same with Laker - I think it must be my imagination - but his feathers seem to come in longer each year. Even my husband remarked yesterday that Laker's beard is quite long & sometimes he even has a little 'English Budgie frown'.

When I was looking at your 2 birds seating the wheat grass - I could see the slim compact lines of Ziggy - not unlike how Rio looks. It may be the youth factor. [at the farm I can easily tell the age of the animals - they really change in body shape & their faces change too.]

Sarah I really chuckled about the "Hey Mister" - how Jerry-ish is that!

Yes, Ziggy is built all slim and sleek compared to Pogo. Because of it, he can fly like some kind of rocket propelled plane ... it's amazing how insane he can fly. Pogo is much more "husky" and flies well, but nothing like Ziggy.

It will be interesting to see if Ziggy fills out with time like Pogo did. So far, Ziggy has maintained his slender build. He eats like a pig too, but never seems to gain weight. Maybe it's just his high energy level he has from still being young.

is that possible? I was actually watchging some budgies the other day and I thought to myuself that some of them looked almost english. Is it common maybe in a pet store or for people to put americans and englishes together and have them end up breeding?

You and my step son both Josh!! He's been asking for a small bird of his own...he really likes the little budgies...but I dunno...seems dangerous with the big old ladies around here.

Winston almost convinces me though....he is such a handsome little guy!

Everybody should have a Winston He's one of the most cheerful little fellows I've ever seen. Most budgies seem to be cheerful and fun, but Winston seems overall less moody than Jerry - always the cheery little chap!

I just worry that my big girls might be mean to a little guy like that....and I sure as heck would not want the little guy to be banished to his cage since the girls roam freely.

Ohhhhh...I don't know...that Winston....he just steals your heart!

With having the budgies around (and I honestly can't see myself without budgies in the future) I don't plan to have any large birds for the safety factor. Budgies are bold and tend to not know how small they are and my fear would be that they would pester a larger bird and pay the price. So your concern is very valid.

These guys have changed my life though - their attitude towards life (their resilience and upbeat songs and persistence), they make me laugh and smile every day.
