My guys like Budgie Butter. I give it to them whenever I give them birdie bread. I spread it on the warm bread.

My biggest fear is stepping on a budgie! I agree though that with flighted budgies you'd think the probability would be less It was a real problem and concern when Jerry and Lulu were clipped and oftentimes landed on the floor because they couldn't help it.

I just don't get the fascination with the floor - by the way i have to wash the floors - Laker's white tail feather is grey like Rio's! They both got bathes this morning - it was misting them as they flew by - when will they enjoy getting wet!!??

I think floors is a budgie thing, the aviary budgies are flighted, a bit wild and love the floor.

Luckily my boys don't like the floor. We've never encouraged them being on the floor when Jerry and Lulu were clipped, and now that they're flighted they just fly from gym to gym, cage to cage, and person to person.

I tried to discourage them & had everyone trying - it did no good. I think the main draw are the shiny chrome feet on my drafting chair.
We all gave up. Budgies rule around here - spoiled rotten.

Golly, I got it several months ago, I can't remember when exactly. I ordered it after I posted the thread. It took several weeks to get here but not so long that I started worrying.
It is a very dark green and has the consistency a little like pesto. I don't know why they call it butter. It doesn't spread easily but I do like to put it on their warm cornbread. They seem to eat it that way.
At least I think they eat it. Sugar usually has a grren face when I give it. It has a very distinct odor, but not unpleasant.
