Rio has really changed. He is really trying to get to know us - my husband & I.
Today when my husband & I were having a chat, Rio leaned over his cage & started to join-in/compete with my husband. My husband has a deep radio type voice - Yum. Rio is loud & percussive - not the same but he's oblivious.
Here we go ...
Where is he? ..... 'Come.'
Too nervous to land ... Just a Fly By.
Landing on his wrist.
Hanging out & Talking to the hand.
Flying to the chair back.
Laker came by to spend time as well.
Sorry about the quality - We were just hanging out & it is a miracle that I got the flight photos!
What sweethearts! Hubby is handsome. I really enjoyed those pics - my favorite is the "flying to the chair back". Rio is so beautiful in flight. Thanks!
Great picture show! I love his tail fanned out ready for the landing. Rio sounds like he's blossoming even more these days. He looks a lot like Jerry in these darker photos - they display similar body language from what I've seen in pictures. And they certainly are nosy little buggers!!
You don't know the half of it! Rio has decided that it is his responsibility to get me up.
Yesterday i opened my eyes to his face 2" away from my nose on the pillow. This morning he did it again & then hopped onto the sheets just under my nose & gave me such a talk. He kept it up until I got up.
& Yes - he does remind me of Jerry [from all his photos] - I wonder if all Opalines have a similar attitude & body language.

That is hysterical! I'd love to wake up like that!!
It is pretty funny - good thing I think so or the 'shot gun' would be out!
Before he gets out in the morning he does a variety of things to get our attention. First it is the hopeful chirps [I have asked Matthew to let him out] - followed by the loud hopping around then the plucking of the bars - then he gets his seed tray & lifts it so he can drop it.
All the while Laker is sitting up in his cage - peering down at us, quiet as a mouse - except for a little foraging.
