We have almost always had a challenge
getting Rio into his cage at night.
Laker hates to share his cage at night. He fights with Rio & doesn't do his happy sounds or even eat - which he does as he is about to roost. My husband came up with the idea of moving Rio's cage as well as Laker's, at the bedtime event. We put the gym where the cages are during the day & Laker's cage does on top of a book case & now Rio's is on the dresser. As soon as we did this he became more willing. I have taken to giving him his special treat at bedtime - grass heads.
He gets the treat in the cage.
Tonight he flew to his cage as we put it on the dresser. He find of fell in his attempt to land on the dresser - there is no outside perch to his small cage & i'll be looking into that asp.
He then hopped up into the cage on his own!
of course he got his treats.
I'm so pleased. He's finally getting more friendly - over the past month he's made great progress & even seeks me out - not always Laker - we have given him lots of time. I knew he was smart but just a bit 'wild'.
He just turned 6 mons old today.
