I've been waiting for this day, and it seems to be going very well so far. I wanted to wait until I had a lot of time to hang around the house and make sure things were going smoothly, and so far they are - Ricky has been in there for several hours now.

I brought Ricky's cage next to Jerry's cage and had both doors open. No one made a move, but eventually Jerry hopped into Ricky's cage and they both immediately gave each other the head bob. After a few minutes Jerry went back into his cage, and Ricky followed. They both sat on the same perch for awhile looking dumbfounded, but Ricky is slowly getting more acclimated to the new perches. And I moved most of his toys in - making sure that there's nothing in there that Jerry might get possessive over.

So far so good, I think it's safe to say they are now roommates!

How cute! They are going to be best buddies!

Sarah, that is the best news, just love it when birds have a buddy. Our human interaction is great but it is a far reach from the bonding of another bird.

YAY, good birds! I am hoping for a day when I will be able to do that as well, but who knows. They sound like they are pretty good buddies now, and Jerry, I hope you are sharing your cage nicely! Oh how could I say such a thing, of course he is!

Ah that's great! Jerry may be the energizer Bunny but he's a good lad & very welcoming. Sweet Ricky sounds like a very well-mannered lad.
