Default Regarding some head bobbing & apparent dancing

head bobbing & apparent dancing

I had forgotten this about Laker. When I first got him he was in his cage all the time. He used to dance a ton & often clung to the cage walls & bobbed his whole body. It made us laugh. The more we laughed the harder he'd bob.

The other day my husband was taking a nap & caged the 2 lads together & took them to the office to be with me. They sat there kind of stunned but seemed happy enough. Then as soon as Laker caught my eye he did his dance. I hadn't seen it in a long time. When I talked to him he flew to the cage wall & bobbed his whole body.

I really think he was begging to get out! As soon as my finger was on the door he was there. They both calmly walked out of the cage & up Sarah's boing to the top of the cage. No offense was taken to the short cage time.

I sometimes cage them together so they can go outside on the balcony. If I'm alone & watching a movie I bring them into the living room in the cage. I've noted that their tolerance is about 1 hour.

Jerry does the dancing bob when he's excited He was doing it last night when his favorite cat walked in and Dave picked up the cat. They birds were in for the night at that point and still munching on their snack, but as soon as Dave picked up the cat and started telling Jerry about his kitty he started bobbing like crazy.

Winston doesn't bob though - have you noticed it with Rio?

Yah - the Jail Dance. - & I am so embarrassed to have laughed at it when I first saw it.

Sarah - can't say I've seen Rio bobbing. Not that he has much to bob about!
Rio is a whole differnt type of bird really. If I'm slow opening his cage in the morning he stares at the door from about an inch away & is very intense. He sometimes attacks my fingers if I am any slower. On occasion I've been cleaning Laker's cage first or something & he hops all around his cage - perch to perch.

He is still quivering his wings a lot. I'd say even more than before. He does it whenever the millet treats come out. He chases Laker away from his designated millet & stands there with his wings held out & shaking.

Spice was doing a lot of head bobbing the other night when I was covering them for bed. It really was the first I had ever noticed it. Sugar never bobs. when he was doing it I was smiling from ear to ear. I knew he was happy about something.
