I also give 'forced' misting baths.
If someone comes up with a sure fire method that works in a number of steps I'll go for it!
I even mist them as they fly by - it doesn't hurt the humidity of the room, as long as I avoid the furniture. In nice weather I take the cages outside & mist them. Like Nancy said - I also use the gentle falling mist as well as the direct hits technique. It's over fairly quickly & they can get on with their day.
Thanks Nancy - hadn't though to take the cage to the bathroom!
I've seen some pretty fun videos about Budgies bathing in those clip-on cage baths. ... I was thinking of trying one out.

Rocky and the Bird Bath - Budgie Update #7 by
Gumleyboy - shows him flicking water from the bath onto the bird, with his fingers, & later the bird using the bath. However he does state in a later message that Rocky prefers a
jar lid to bathe in rather than the bird bath.]
I have been offering a flat plant saucer on top of the cages - with a small island of sprouts to get them over there to look at it. So far Rio sees it as an excellent 'wild water' spot - gets his face wet & shakes the drops everywhere.
You'll hear great excitement if he ever bathes!
Laker is much more resigned to the bathes than Rio. They look much better with the bathing so I would continue until we find a magic solution. I'm sure if only one would get into it the others would follow!
Have you tried running water? - I did have some success with Laker when he was an only bird & didn't have a pest chasing him off all the time. He tried the bathroom sink. I was able to place him in the sink again, just last week, when Rio was busy, but he only drank the water.
