Here's a couple more of Pogo I took this morning. Used natural light (no flash), so you can see his real colors better in these photos. Pogo is "technically" a Type II Yellow Face ... which means the yellow mixes with the blue on his chest and makes him a sea green color. On the side shot, you can see how his body color changes from front to back. The other pictures I posted in post #16 are about 6 or 7 months ago (he was only about 7 months old then), so his body colors have changed some since then

Yes, Budgies are really special little birds. Until you've had one that is a talker and super social with you, many people just don't know who cool Budgies can be. Not only are they beautiful looking, they have a great soul and personality too!

Leigh - you really would enjoy the delights of a Budgie (i know it can be like having a Border Collie versus a lap-dog [sp]) but they are still Parrots & are full of personality.

Lavender 954- Joey & Sami look so great outside their cage like that - can't wait until all your new birds are out as well.

Tiffany - get a new camera! your bird deserves a great photo - what a sweetie.

Hayabusa - Pogo is so great - not only is he one of my favourite colour combos but he is so smart. Scott you pointed out the colour change thing as well. I posted about Rio darkening as he went thru his first molt.

Here's Rio again with his new feathers - 4 1/2 months old.

& at one month old.

Oh Jac, I love that poofy-headed Rio pic! I love the puffed up head

And I totally agree about the Border Collie vs. lapdog comment LOL! I was talking with a co-worker the other day about the differences in energy levels with our dogs - I never really thought about it in terms of birds! I mean I know how extremely high energy Jerry is vs. Lulu (and oh boy, Jerry has been bouncing off the walls lately lol). Jerry is obviously very tame but that doesn't mean that he'll sit on me for an hour at a time. Within that hour he's likely to constantly flit back and forth to me, staying only for a few minutes at a time. He's ever on the go but it's so much fun to watch lol.
