It is really sad to hear how humans treat their pets & can't figure out that they won't work out before they get them but this is often the case & honestly finding a better 2nd home is very difficult. Few jump at the chance to have a 'used' bird/pet. I'm glad he found you. I can't understand why the cage was more important than the bird - more money invested i guess.
Every day i look at my Laker & wonder how he was returned to the shelter from his 2nd home [1st one he escaped from - little imp]. I have enjoyed every moment with him. So i am glad they returned him so i could have him.
Sounds to me as soon as the bird saw you, he knew he was gonna be okay. I just don't understand some people. Thank you for giving this bird another chance to realize what love is.
This little one has settled in very well,He steps right up and loves to give kisses,He is almost pushy as to say omg I am getting attention.as soon as I get a new camera cord since my pup ate it I will post pics.

Awwww.... I hope the others accept him or you may have a permanent shoulder buddy when you're at work. How could you resist? lol

He sounds like quite the little guy - how anyone could treat him so poorly makes me ill. As others have said, I believe he knows he is finally in good hands.
Thank you for being there for that little Keet Barb.
Not to wonder off buuuut, Why is it that folks are willing to give up the little life but seem to always keep the cage?
This is very common, and frankly eludes me...

Love the Budgie picture!
Sadly I think it's so they can get a new bird. I was reading (maybe here) where one rescue insists if they surrender the bird they also surrender the cage to stop them from just refilling it.
