Way to go - great looking cage - spill the details....where'd it come from, how much, how difficult to assemble, & how long a wait for it.

I love it.
I'm really happy with the cage. It's built very well, and all the pieces fit together real nice. It's also powder coated so it's finish is practically indestructible – I got the “platinum” color, which is light gray, but it comes in 4 colors. I got it off ebay from "TheFeatherFarm". Here's a link.

Parakeet, Finch & Canary Breeder Cage FREE SHIPPING - (eBay item 270134761191 end time Sep-17-07 09:54:11 PDT)

The price went up from $98 to $110, but IMO it's still a great deal ... and that includes FREE shipping to lower 48 states. The ebay seller was very good, and I didn't have any hassles at all. If you don't want to buy on-line, they give a phone number you can just call and order it over the phone.

It wasn't hard to assemble. It's pretty big, so it would be easier with two people, but I did it myself. Pogo wanted to help, but he didn't quite handle the screw driver right. The cage sits on the stand, so if you wanted to take if off to clean or whatever it lifts right off. The bottom grate and tray both slide out for cleaning. Only thing I'd like to see different is one large door instead of two smaller ones, but it's not a big deal. I think they did two small doors because you could divide the top and bottom and have two cages in one if desired.

I transfered all of Pogo's stuff from his cluttered little cage to the mansion and he's been checking it out tonight. He's actually flying around from perch to perch ... that's how big it is, which is great because he can get some exercise when he's locked up.

Here’s a few pixs of the setup cage, and Pogo chillin’ out and enjoying (and preening in) the new digs.

I noticed a hatch for a nest box up in the corner of the last photo. Wonder if you'll be using it eventually.

Q's: Is there a grate on the bottom? - I noticed you put a cover on it so he can play with his waffle balls. How would the divider work? - how would the top part be cleaned?

This is the kind of cage i'd love to get but first i have to find a space solution. I'd love to get one for my mother's Tiels - thanks Birdgirl for the reminder, as it is apparent it is big enough for them as well.

Pogo looks kind of in shock - it's really great that he can 'fly' in there- that's why i'd like one that big - so if they have to stay in a cage for any reason they don't go stark raving mad.

Scott - you could put a whole tree branch in there.- I'd love to come to the party! - post pics - party hats on Budgies sounds just about right - Pogo would look adorable.

I know someone here has a corner cage & says it isn't great for a bigger bird [not as much space in there as one would think] but it might work for Budgies best.

WOO-HOO!! Party!

Really nice cage, I hope he really likes it! (I know mine do!) I think I would have preffered one with one big door too. I was on bird.com and they have some very similar to this one, just for a little more plus free shipping! and it has one big door! I got mine because it was cheeper plus I got to pick it up myself (a local breeder has some usually in stock)
here is a link to the cage:

Flight Bird Cage W/Tray 32 X 20 X 59 Charcoal

My personal favorite though is the double flight with removable divider!
(picture attached)

Oh and bird.com is having $5 shipping on all orders all week!

Yes, there a small door on the top of each side for a nest box. I'm sure Pogo would like to be a dad someday ... LOL. If I do get another Budgie someday, I'd like to get another male as long as two males can get along with each other.

Yes, there is a grate in the bottom, and the white tray is below the grate. Both slide out from the front (each are own their own track). I put paper towels (taped together on the backside) in the bottom to help keep the cleaning down. I changed it every other day, and it prevents poop from getting all over the grate and tray. Makes it a simple wipe down cleaning when required, plus it give him a smooth surface to run around on without his feet falling through the grate.

I think the one we have looks to be built better than the one in the link (plus I don't like those little heart things on the small food doors ... LOL, or the way the bottom tray sits on grate instead of sliding into a track), but both are nice cages. That double flight cage would be nice, but it's even bigger than what we have. I'd be pressed to find a good spot for a cage that big. I'm pretty happy with the one from TheFeatherFarm on ebay ... I can't complain about the price or quality.

Yah, I thought the same things about the one at bird.com. and with the double...I don't have enough space for a cage that big! (besides what would I do with the ones I already have??? I'll tell you....ECS
ECS is Empty Cage Syndrome!!! Room for more birds! )
