Jerry has been a real cuddlebug with me lately, constantly hanging out on me for scritches and Mommy time. And lately I've been sneaking up on him when he's hanging out with Winston to get in some more scritches and smooches

He'll be on the top of his big gym on one perch, with Winston on a perpendicular perch. I'll stand alongside Jerry, so he's right in the middle of me and Winston, thus making a Jerry Sandwich. Jerry LOVES attention from everyone so he has attention from me and from Winston simultaneously and the look on his face is just pure bliss and priceless - he'll turn to Winston for a minute and lean in for kisses, then I'll stick my nose in back of his wings so then he'll turn around and lean in for kisses with me and he's in heaven with all the attention - and also a bit of a predicament since he can't decide who to devote all his attention to!!

I'm just glad that he's still a Momma's boy even with Winston around - I was afraid of losing that. But I don't think I will.

And one time as the boys had me sandwiched and I was just a nose length's away from Winston, I did try to touch nose to beak with him as Jerry and I do, just to see what he'd do (because he allows me to get that close every night and we play the blinking game that close) - and he gave a a swift dart on the nose with his beak No touching of the Big Budgie yet

Yes we too have Budgie sandwiches - but the flavour is a bit different.

Laker is the spread but Rio wants to be the bread completely. Laker is uncomfortable in this situation - he dearly loves to come over & cuddle with me - yes cuddle! Laker is getting closer to me instead of further away. He is not as shy as he was - seeking our 'protection' - to keep Rio at a distance. I think it's Rio's aggression that makes him nervous - he really doesn't like to be crowded or maneuvered. Rio lands so closely to Laker that he often steps on him & Laker really hates that.


Rio is Ok - not too dejected & of course he has his fresh grass to turn to for comfort. Rio has also taken advantage of our bedroom mirror - i've found him chatting to himself a lot lately - just like Lake used to. Laker now talks to the office chair's metal.

I am glad that Jerry still loves you Sarah - it was a big worry we both shared.

Oh this whole post had me cracking up! I'm glad that Laker is getting closer to you as a result of bringing home the Hyper One. Rio does sound like such a character.
