Default Intorducing my Budgie Laker - Winter photos

Laker is a Clearflight Yellow-face Budgie - don't now his age, as I got him from a shelter this past summer. He is quite the character & we all love him. Budgies are easy to love, I think.

I know this is kind of a funny shot - I angled it so i could get all of him in the photo!

Here he is hanging out by the cage door - he loves his new Boing [a generous Christmas gift from our pal Sarah & Jerry the Budgie].

The winter has been mild here until recently, but not anymore -20C today, I think. Of course February is technically our coldest & snowiest month & it starts tomorrow!
The frosted windows make it hard to get a good shot - too much glare. But i wanted to show Sarah how I've wrapped the Boing around the cage for Laker's enjoyment. In the mornings he sits on the highest part & sings away like mad.

Hope you like them,
Jac

Love the pictures! Laker's coloring even match that fabulous boing I do love how it's setup outside his cage.

Laker has got some kinda digs there.... my poor kids look like college students by comparison (guess kids don't live crowded in dorms any more, so maybe old college students). If I could just get a bigger house, so I could get bigger cages.....

Thanks for the compliments - we all love to have others appreciate out loved ones. Our Bedroom 17 x 14' is his aviary but he also enjoys our office next door & out son's sunny room down the hall. He flies from room to room or is transported on our shoulders like a prince. Ahhhhhhh yes, Prince laker.

Here he is posing for himself - I have to remind him often that i like him better than the mirror Budgie. If he gets hormonal I really reduce his mirror time but his new gym is next to it - if i don't put it too close to the mirror he is OK.

We made this for him this winter & he loves to hang around on his tree.
