Default injured budgie at pet store

I was just at local pet store and was looking at budgies.... they must have 25 or 30 in the area.. these ones are the ones that can fly. they have others where they have clipped their wings already...
anyway I saw something on the top of one of the budgies heads that looked liked blood. so I spoke to the clerk and told her that there was one in the menagerie of budgies that had what looked like blood.... anyway they got sometone into have a look see
it was right in th emiddle of the forhead in front...... and yes it was confirmed that it was blood. so they pulled her out and checked it . they cleaned it and put some sauve on it. and then they put in with finiches so that the other budgies would not attack it.... I did feel bad for the budgie. as they dont seem to know what happned...... I hope it is going to be ok. I am going back to morrow to see if its ok..... I hope so. if it is still there I will offer to take it..

Thank you so much for looking out for this little one. She probably got involved in a squabble, which unfortunately happens more when they are kept in overcrowded conditions. Hope she's ok.

I don't think they should have put it in with the finches - too bad they didn't have a separate cage for just a few birds to hang. I'm not sure if it is one of our members but someone said they got a Budgie because it attacked the other birds it was being caged with - not parrots. The store wanted it out.

How is it - did you have a chance to check again??

sorry it took me so long to get back to you on the budgie..

I just went to pet store and they have it in with the other budgies. didnt tqke me long to notice it as it is still bleeding on top of head .. not like the other day but you can still see bloood...

i told the girl again and they said they had no choice as no other place to put it... I know they are not expensive... they are 19.98 here. Just I cannot afford that at the moment... near end of month.I will.. my electric bill came in and i s more than I budgeted for so. I will go back in a week s time when cheque comes in and hopefully it i s still there.. they still have cost of it the same as all the rest...

That's awful that the store doesn't have any other place to put him - especially since he is still bleeding!! That is infuriating.

I know it's heart breaking to see such a thing and we can't save them all. You saying something to them twice is more than most people would probably do.

thank you .
I actually just got back from pet store again. and I did ask them what it would take to help these little fellows along.. they said that he isnt he only one. they have several... so there must be something in the engage that they have them in with something a wire or screw or something that is new in there. as I did count more than 5 with this blood on their forhead. so if they werent listening they are now.... and still no offerfrom them for me to help take care of them for them..... it was just "that they will be just fine..." as I spoke before a better percentage are female and I am not sure if I want a female within my brood of males......but I did make it known that there was more than the one. and that there was something within the are that is new that is doing thiis. or that they have a very ficious male on their hands or female........... .

I do hope they listen - why did they get so many when they can't house them properly? You often see Finches, Canaries & Budgies in crowded cages. I think it gives the public the wrong idea.

Most people think they're doing the bird a favour giving it its own cage - thinking a small one is great & maybe 2 birds in there. Same goes for the other birds. I know that from talking to my local Pet Value store [owner is simply a business man] - they haven't a clue as to what is considered the proper cage for any species & that I'm sure goes beyond birds. I know another Pet Value where the owner is a bird/pet guy - big difference in his cages & toys etc.
