He was flitting around here with me in living room

he is now in cage and sitting with wings out from body.... and hes brething real hard.




but I am sooo scared.

there is a mark on his lower chest area.r

I dont want to chase him around cage.. in case i make things matters worse..... so am watching him with fine toothcomb as you say.. so far he is just sitting there.....

Does he fly around like that often?

What does the mark look like on his chest? Did he hit it on something? How long have you had Joey?

i tried taking pic of mark but it doesnt show.. joey is with me since january... no he doesnt fly like this... just sort of short distances back and forth on top of partition....... i will try for another picture........

the new s right now is i made him sit in cage for about half hour. and then i opened the door. he is flying now and eating with no problem. so maybe it knocked wind out of him.. still not sure what mark is from.... though...... scary for me... as first time bird owner s in a very long long time...... thank you for replying.... will post pict if i can get one......

I know thats just below breast plate. so could have caused damage. will take to vet in morning if not any better....

Poor baby! Don't feel bad though; all we can do is our best & I know you are a great parront. Keep us posted.

I hope Joey is feeling better in the morning. Encouraging to hear in your last post that he was eating and flying around normally though. You and the little guy will be in my thoughts.

Edit: I wonder if perhaps he could have had a panic about something, which caused him to fly around like that? If he's not used to prolonged flight, maybe he could have been overheated? Kathie's (Calvins Mom) post about overheated birds made me think about this. The symptoms for overheating sure sound like what you described.

Funny, Nate, I was thinking he probably just wore himself out. I truly think (hope) he will be fine in the morning.
