The first part of your original post does sound like he wore himself out - the holding out the wings and breathing hard. This sometimes happens to Winston because he tries to keep up with Jerry but still does not have the muscle strength and stamina that Jerry has. It's good that you let him catch his breath, that's what I do with Winston, put him in his cage until he catches his breath and shows that he's ready to come out and play again.

When Winston gets out of breath he sometimes makes spontaneous landings, maybe Joey did the same thing and bumped into something along the way. Keep an eye on him, but it sounds encouraging that he's eating and playing again.

The little mark on is chest - could be anything. It could be a broken feather - but the feathers are so soft in that area it seems unlikely.
It could be colouring from somewhere he landed, that he just picked up. If you bathed him yesterday he could have picked up colouring from any of the bird toys that have coloured wood - like the ladder - on his damp feathers. It will wash off if this is the case - but not right away.

Laker was always puffing/panting - for months - as he developed his strength. He was always pushing the envelope - flying further & longer. Laker always seems so content in the end - even tho he was whipped.
Or - Maybe he was startled & flew longer than he was ready for.

they are both now sitting on top of the partition which is their favorite spot to sit...... and preening one another. chattering back and forth....

I did read the thread on overheating... it was hot in here as well last night. nd I know that they open wings to cool off... it was the mark that I saw that concerned me..... he seems to be his ownself this morning.... but will still watch him....... next 24 hrs.......

LOL! "Spontaneous landings", I love it! "No really officer, that wasn't a "crash" landing, it was just "spontaneous"! Sarah, you missed your calling as a Spin Doctor!

That's what it is though Winston really doesn't crash, but it's more like he'll be flying and I can visibly see him losing speed and altitude and when he approaches one of his gyms he'll land on his feet he'll land somewhere odd where he usually doesn't land. All of my guys have their usual "landing pads" or places they land most often and when I can see Winston lose steam he'll land on the closest surface instead of one of his usual spots. And if he's realllly out of steam he'll land on the furniture, that's a sure-fire sign that he needs a breather.

I am also glad to hear he is back to himself this morning... I know mine really huff and puff when they fly.... They are not used to it, at all.... Short little flights... they would rather waddle to where they are going... with a hop, skip & a jump now & then...
