You move there cages around?
This has proven to upset our birds here, once they learn there surroundings we have found it best to keep there cages placed where they are.
Hmmm, the fluttering of the wings could mean many things, I will say excitement, I suspect its from being moved to that location...

I think the moving the cages is another issue ... I used to move the cages from room to room more [I did this with Laker when I first got him - he was like my pocket parrot - but in a cage - so he was never alone unless I left the building.]. Now it only happens if I'm in another area for a long time [ie on the balcony or next to it] into areas they can't or shouldn't go to on their own.

If they are used to only one thing - like that 'big' Budgie cage you had - maybe a change would frighten them for a bit.

At night I do move Rios' cage from the window area, where the cages are during the day, like I move Laker's [This stated when we had our cat & his safe area is on top of our bookcase]. Originally I had left it & was getting lots of 'I'm not going to bed' attitude. When we moved his cage to the dresser at night, closer to Laker, he settled down.
So that's their routine & as a routine it seems to work for them.

When I set the cages together in the morning, by the window, with all the stuff that goes with & on them, Rio is so excited & hops all over. He goes in & out of both cages & checks on the food & water situation.

We call it "groveling" at my house.... and it is usually begging for me.

Although sometimes they "shiver" their wings a little, when there is no way they can be cold. I asked the vet about it, he said it was pretty normal.

Thanks for the input! It's good to know he's Ok & everyone has seen this behavior Laker was already mature when I got him, he has never done this. Maybe Rio was extra hungry those mornings - can't say as I've seen him do it for a day or 2.
