Carmine and Cuddles have always rather been in their cage than out playing. I used to have to bring them in a different room or they'd just fly back into their cage. Well we moved their cage temporarily while we figure out where we're putting their new cage and now they are begging for attention from me. As soon as they hear my voice or see me walk in the room, Cuddles flies to the door and Carmine starts frantically pacing and screaming. As soon as I open the door, he flies out and wants to play, very unusual for this little guy. I caught his pacing on my phone (sorry its bad quality). I thought it was cute that these two are finally wanting to play with me and not the other way around.

Cute video!! That's great that they are becoming more outgoing and wanting to come out and play! Jerry sometimes does the fast pacing if he's excited. He also likes to do flips over one of his perches to get my attention.

They are very intertaining little guys. Carmine seems to be finally coming out of his shell. I was talking to them in their cage and he came running to the front. Cuddles was sitting straddled in the corner, and he was in Carmine's way. So Carmine goes underneath him and pokes his head out the other side. Cuddles just looked down like "And what are you doing this time?" LOL

What's it like having more than 1 Budgie?

I love having two. They always have someone to play with when I'm not around. It's also great when they have out of the cage time together, they play together, then chirp to eachother and fly to me. Its almost like they say "Ok, on the count of three lets fly" LOL

Did you get them at the same time? Are they the same age?

Cuddles is around 3 and Carmine is around one. I got Carmine about 2 years after I got Cuddles. Cuddles' friend died and was depressed, so I adopted Carmine to get him back to normal again. They are inseperable now.
