Default A Canadian Budgie named Parsley

Parsley the little Green Female Budgie - is a Children's Story Book Model as well.
I was wandering around the internet & came across this site. The diary pages are really good. The Budgie arrives very young & matures. The diet is reviewed photographically as well as a bunch of bathing rituals.
Parsley the budgie.

In one instance they show a bowl of sprouted alfalfa on a plate for anyone wanting to do that. They bought some really entertaining food bowls with stands - I have never seen them in stores.

Thanks for the link. My granddaugters are spending the day with me Thursday and I was just telling them this afternoon that we're going to see Puck and Victor. Now we can visit with Parsley also! They are going to love the pictures. They have 2 Budgies, Fall and Sunshine.

I loved that idea of sprouting right on the plate. Didn't you just love that little ferris wheel with the peas in it, too cute!!

That's great - maybe they will work on their own web page or diary. Have fun.

This very cute budgie. Small seed alfalfa/millet can also be sprouted in old panyhose. We make grass head men here. Cut a piece of old panyhose, put your seed in the middle. Add safe wood shavings and tie all the edges together.
When you turn the ball shape over you have the seeds at the top. Decorate the head with eyes etc and place in a dish of water. The head grows hair after a little while. If you make this without the eyes it can be a budgie fresh food garden. The seeds need to be on the outside edges closest to the pantyhose. There cant be too many seeds or they will rot before growing.
I dont know what other growing medium can be used besides shavings. This is only suitable for very small birds that cant beak the pantyhose.

Love it! I'm going to give it a try - i imagine you could use a 'soil-less' growing medium instead of shavings. Then you could hang the moist ball in the cage?!
