Default Busy Budgies - VIDEOS

An evening in the life of the budgies:

Jerry plays with his favorite bell. I'm holding the bell on my lap (excuse my plaid PJ pants):
YouTube - Jerry's favorite bell

The boys play with their basket full of toys and then decide to chase Lulu (Winston was the instigator!):
YouTube - Naughty Budgies

Winston serenades Jerry as they run around on top of Jerry's cage:

They are very good videos - BUT I would think about the background sounds if you can, IMO - certainly in the future. I could see that Dave was being patient during the filming but the unguarded comments just slipped out in 2 videos! I'd redo the 1st one without the background sounds. I'm sure Jerry will cooperate for another take.

I'm surprised that Jerry looks so 'grey' in the videos. Winston is adorable when he's chatting so long & has Jerry mesmerized.

Are you taking Lulu videos - I honestly am interested to see more of her personality as well.

With all this video coverage I am really getting to know your birds better.

Yeah I know the TV is annoying. You have no idea how many videos I've taken and erased already lol. But really when there's no background noise the birds are much more shy and don't act like they normally do (because we generally have the TV on or something in the background). Dave now thinks it's funny to try to say obscene comments when I'm recording - I edited out a lot at the end of #1 but it was actually pretty funny, Jerry kept screeching when I would tell Dave to not make comments. I know I still left his comment in there on that 1st one though. The one groan wasn't because of filming, it was because he was doing poorly in his video game

I plan to do more of Lulu this weekend, I'll try more tonight. She's really just tame and mellow, and she generally only sings in her cage. I'm trying to get good shots of her in flight but it's hard. I'll do some closeups of her tonight. I know I've been concentrating on the budgies a lot - they're just too darn entertaining!

My birds enjoy children's programming & music videos - maybe Saturday you could try those - somewhat less loud.

Boy, Dave is a devil child. He must be the reason you're so patient with the birds! Great training.

Loved the videos! Especially the third one, where Jerry was looking so intent at Winston singing

He's always like that when Winston sings to him - I was really surprised that he's so submissive-like with Winston because he's so outgoing and controlling of Lulu (not nearly as much as he was before Winston came home, but he's still infatuated with Lulu slightly).

There is nothing better than listening to a budgie. In the last video I thought Jerry looked purple but grey in the others. What color is he?

His color is hard to capture - it all depends on the lighting. He's a violet factor and generally he looks like a sky blue color (not sky blue budgie mutation color, those look more turquoise to me) but only in the right light can you see the violet glow to him - the violet factor makes his feather color look brighter overall. Winston is blue in color with a grey factor and his blue vs. Jerry's blue is very distinct (to me, anyways lol). A couple of my videos show the violet glow to him, I think the one with Winston and Jerry on my lap shows their colors well.
