Default Budgies find linnie

The birds have been calling back and forth for awhile. Today, Sugar flew out of my bedroom into the living room where I had Parsley. He has NEVER flown out of that room. And the next minute here comes Spice. Quarantine has long been over and I knew from the vet Spice wasn't contagious, so I wasn't overly concerned.

Parsley stayed clinging to me and the budgies ignored her. The budgies couldn't find there way home so I brought their cage out and they flew right in. I had both cages next to each other and there seemed to be no interest in each other.

Everyone is sleeping now in their own rooms. I have to say all this surprised me. I thought they would interact a bit.

Interesting night indeed! They might have been playing the "I sure am interested but I'm going to try my hardest to pretend I'm not!" game. Winston did that when he first came home, he'd turn completely away from us when we were in the same room but at the same time he would be watching but he did it very inconspicuously

At least no one was too scared. Parsley was probably just nervous. Overall it sounds like a good first meeting - they'll get to know each other more over time. They probably need time to observe each other. I'm also betting that Parsley will be a major tool to show the budgies that you're fun to interact with....

Laker did the same thing when i brought Rio home.
He shortened our quarantine down to about 7 days as i recall. He also flew into the living room - where he never goes on his own. [now of course he has tried to visit me a few times when he knows i'm in the kitchen - they peek down the hallway as they fly from room to room in the back part of the apartment]

Laker didn't fly to the cage either. He flew to the highest point in the room & stared. Then he was step-upped & carried back to the back. They'd been calling to each other a lot. Rio was the most excited but he was in the cage.

I hope Parsley isn't too intimidated by the 2 boys. I would think Spice is bigger than her as well. I hope they become friends.
I look forward to the updates.
