I'm glad you & Sarah both think so. I must admit I was kind of excited to hear he was dominant - from the breeder. Sometimes I worry he'll be too pushy with Laker - but they seem to be working things out. I don't think it would have done to push the 'same cage' thing.
I think Josh is very astute about separating the more gentle birds from the other groups. Perhaps this action will encourage a buyer to get the birds that suit their temperament.
IMO a timid animal just gets weird if bullied too much - they need nurturing.
well I got tons of pics of him/her and her 2 buddies. I'm still at work now, but will post them when I get home.
You can see her naked vent in the pics, but you cant really tell how skinny she is. One think I notice is that she does seem to sleep a lot, shes slower than the other 2, much more relaxed. The other 2 will be preening eachother and flying around and she'll just sit and puff up and sleep.
When I have her out, she flys and plays and chirps.
I dunno, maybe I'm paranoid and being silly. There was just something about her that worried me. Like a feeling, I cant explain it.
If nothing else, the three of them have really caught my heart. I will do my best to find them a good home.
To be honest I would say you are not paranoid, I've seen a lot of baby keets and typically when they have a stance like that, meaning slightly puffy and hunched up with a vent that looks by the pic to be stained....they are typical ill, either from lack food, (either because they are too young and were mock eating, or lack of appetite from illness) and being under weight, or they have a bacterial infection if the breathing seems normal and there is no tail bob. Just my opinion, but I think the bird needs a vet. And I know from what you have said that will most likely not happen, as the owner would not do it.
