Great news! I FINALLY got to view the video tonight. He's adorable! Sorta reminded me of the Ekkie wing-flipping, but not as dramatic.

Maybe he's just gotten himself into a habit. Glad he's healthy!!!

thanks everyone. yes, it was nerve-wracking!

i've kinda come to the conclusion that its zeba's way of begging for some lovey-dovey head scritching. lol. he kinda looks like a baby bird when he gives me that "look" when he does the wing-flit.

so the news of good health was the allowance of zeba to come out of quarantine yesterday. after introducing him to my own amazon (male), ive come to the realization (after a lot of yelling matches between the two and a bloody, slightly gashed index finger) that zeba is probably also male. now the two are at opposite ends of my living room. lol.

darn it! just my luck! all the birds in my home thus far are MALE. somethings wrong here. the testosterone levels in my home too high for much comfort

Glad to know the test come back good!

I have to say, Zeba does seem to be a very loving zon. If I tried that with Harley, I would be a bit bloody.

I agree with John , to give her a bath to see if she is itchy at all...and that in itself, will answer that question if that is adding to the twitching.

Being a long time zon mom, It looks to me, as if Zeba is looking for attention. Usually they tend to be more vocal and excitable. To me, it looks as if Zeba is thinking about getting excited, thus the wing flap and changing her mind almost immediately because she IS content. I dont know if that even makes sence, but I am reading it as she is just interacting with you and wants to be touched and loved.....Thinking for a quick second to be loud like a zon and then is happy and content in the same thought

LOL, then i am GLAD for the twitching (the second thought).

yes, i will be giving zeba a shower tomorrow. its definitely time that he got another one.

oh, zeba IS a loving zon - much more than i have ever seen in another zon. BUT, he (we were told he's a he) HATES men. he will try to fly-attack (he used to be able to fly, but is now clipped so he will try to "fly" at anything he doesn't like...even tho clipped, he can easily clear 10 feet before landing (!) ) my husband if out of his cage and my husband comes into the room (he was abused by men). and of course, if i get to close when he is in this guard-bird mode, i'll be bitten (have been...4 times so far). but if he and i are alone, or like at the vet where he was surrounded by women, he becomes just a sweet-as-can-be bird.

I'm not so sure this is a valid indication of gender. I have a female BF who will attack any other Amazon. It seems to be more a matter of personality than of gender, IMO.
