That's adorable!

I never thought of using something like apple. I use whole almonds. Meaning either she does one trick and we take a 5 minute break for her to eat it, or I have to get her to do several things in a row before I click. It's pretty unhandy, but so far almonds are the only thing I've found that she'll do anything for. She does like apple though.

I just chop em up into little bits. Since our kitchen is close when I start chopping I say OOOH BOOOOYYY , lol, and she starts screaming..she knows the fun is about to begin.
I let her just take one bit for a lil thing, but if she does good she gets to buffet in my hand for a few seconds. I've read and found that reinforces the good stuff to "jackpot" em. Since I live in the south, I just call it a buffet.

Currently, she gets a click/treat when I bump my hand into the ring when I cue her with "gimme the ring". Slowly, she's gettin it.
Even if she don't get it, she's wicked cute just holding that shower curtain ring.

that's cute... it's heartwarming to follow the progress of their trust increasing to the point where they eventually share their favorite toys with you... i love the look on her face - so content and happy.

i use apple a lot for treats.... works like a charm - i don't sweet potato would work that well... it's hart enough to get my guys to eat them for meals
