He has been in five homes we think. Last person that had him set him up with a female. For 7 years they were together and she was beating the day lights out of him.
One day a racoon got the female and injured his wing.
The breeder went to get him to take him to the vet and he ran over and stepped up on her arm as if he had been doing it all his life.
Then he come to live with me. He was about 18 years old when I got him. He is very sweet bird. You would never know he went over 7 years never being touched.
He does not talk and I have been told he more then likely has a liver problem thats why his beak is so long.
I have never had him tested cause it is hard on a bird and there is nothing that can be done for him.
But I know his beak has been like this for over 7 years it was long when I brought him home. So he may be just fine and just have extra growth for anouther reason.
Joey does not talk but he well laugh and he loves to cuddle. He can no longer fly so I don't have to clip his wings to keep him safe.
He has a open band but I have never held him down to look at it. Don't know why it is just something I have not done. Really I should but....
