the only red lored amazon that i know was very gentle to those he deemed worthy of his trust. he was known to know from just looking at you for the first time to be able to tell if he liked you or not. he honored me with his trust and he was soooooooooooooo gentle and loved attention.

What a wonderful thing for you to do Shane, to take in Petey - I have no idea how I missed this post! Any idea on when Petey might be coming to live with you?

Hey - Maybe you should push it a bit Shane - next time you see her or are about to visit.
Be straight up & say you'd really like to take him now. Maybe she doesn't want to push you - you never know what the other person's thinking until you speak up.
It is hard to give something up but very wonderful to see the animal loved as well. You could take lots of photos to show her. Tell her about your trip this summer & how you'd like to set him up with Jack so they're all set before you go away ...I'm sure you can be creative. Wouldn't it be great to have th summer months - taking him outside with Jack etc.

Does he take to a harness?
