Hercules is a Mealy Amazon (Farinosa) and also our 1st Mealy. They are often called the gentle giants of the Amazon species, and he is just that.
Last time we checked he came in at 658 grams. He has a great personality, he is gentle, smart, funny, and is a pro at climbing off all the perches to come find you and tell you " good morning" in his best voice, no matter what time of day it is. He is the reason we bought 2 more Mealys (Hermes and Franky) a couple threads down. Unlike Hercules these 2 boys are not as gentle, but they are giants. Hermes is in the low 700 grams and Franky comes in around 843 grams. They are also a different sub-species, they are Costa Rican Mealys. Here are some pics of our gentle giant Hercules. I will also post a pic of Hermes and Hercules together so you can see the difference in the two Mealys.

Ive been lucky to meet several Mealys but Hercules was the nicest. He has beautiful lavender feet and big gorgeous eyes.

I love mealys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the first amazons I ever met was a mealy.

Here's some more of Hercules, and I will admit, we really lucked out with him, he is such a sweet bird. He sings, talks up a storm and will step up to anyone he meets.

OH! Hercules is adorable! I am madly in love will all Amazons. They are truly incredible. Great pics, he looks like such a doll.

Mealys are great birds,they are so gentle,I love their eyes !
