This lovely lady came through Joel. She's around 11 now and is a Yellow Crown/Orange Wing. Her name was Andy, but I had a suspician Andy was a girl -- and so she is. She holds a special place in my heart, because she's so very sweet. She loves head skritches (but don't try to hold her) and has learned how to swing a tube bell and position her head under it to give herself skritches when I'm not available. Of course, she gives off those wonderful Amazon happy puffs I love so much.



Here she is with Lope. Well ... Lope. Um ... well ... kindly put, Lope is a sociopath. Certainly one of the prettiest 'zons I've ever seen, but he hates the entire human race, as far as I can figure out. He, also, came from Joel, who'd taken him in somewhat of a rescue. He's a Mexican Red Head and has since moved to Georgia to live with friends.

They're so pretty! If I ever get another parrot, it will probably be an amazon. There's just something about them...

The birds aren't the only ones giving off happy 'zon puffs!! Joanie, I swear, your enthusiasm for the species is simply infectious!! Your posts keep making me want to add another 'zon to my flock! Yours are such characters and real beauties!! And based on my experience with Stella (my YNA), I already know the joys of sharing a life with a 'zon!!

Kelly........How about Lope? Not sure of his progress of late (Joanie?) but maybe if Kim's hubby isn't successful at taming, you might want to give it a try.
