So is Lope.

I have always been slightly intimidated by the Amazon personality (beak) and so that is why we only have Gizmo the wee one.

I too love the zon aroma!

Lope ... Last July Lope went to live with Kim Lynn and Ricky, at Ricky's request. Ricky is very good with parrots and had wanted to work with Lope to see if he could make any progress in socializing him. So far there's been no notable progress. Kim Lynn tells me that his motto is "I hate everyone!" Ricky handles him and is willing to take the bites involved. When Kim Lynn needs to move him from place to place, she brings a dish towel or hand towel and he climbs aboard, swinging from the towel until he gets where he's going. That's how I moved him while he was with me and it worked well. He'd savagely attack the towel instead of my hands.

Apparently, he tolerates their other 'zons (DYH male Kiwi and Red Lored "D") well. That in itself is progress, as he had no tolerance at all for other male 'zons while he was with me. He even flew across the room once to attack Sammy, the little Nanday (gender unknown) who was rehomed witih Samm.

Physically, Lope is doing just fine. He's healthy and beautiful. He just hasn't yet decided he wants anything good to do with people.

I seriously doubt if Ricky would be willing to part with Lope. Even if he would, though, I honestly can't recommend the idea. My opinion is that he will need expert intervention if he's to make any progress at all.
