Default Will not eat fruits and veggies

Echo hasn't been touching his fruits and veggies. I have the feeling that he wasn't fed very many, and I know greys are known to be picky. But, he will NOT touch them! I have tried foraging things and feeding them by hand and as treats, but with no luck. All he wants is seed. Any ideas???

Maybe try making a birdie bread. Or eat it in front of him and act really, really happy, lol. I hope someone comes with good ideas, I don't have very many.

My Buddy didnt want anything but pellets when I first took him. The first time I offered him watermelon he backed up, did they grey stare and said " OH! Back Off!! Your DRUNK!" I almost fell on the floor from that one! It took a few weeks of me standing there eating in front of him saying "mmm I love this melon" After sticking his tongue in MY bowl, there was no turning back. I think the key was letting him eat from my bowl or plate every time I offered him something new. Its a flock thing. In the wild they eat in flocks of thousands. Maybe you could give it a try!

I totally agree with Leigh. Tully flat refused to eat anything healthy at all when we got him. Until he saw someone else eating it. So we started letting him out at dinner time and then he'd eat the healthy stuff. Especially if the kids were eating it. My youngest HATES it when Tully's out at meal time now. I think that Tully thinks Griffin is a pushover since he's the smallest so he raids his plate. We usually fix him his own plate, but for some reason he likes eating off of Griffin's better.

BTW Leigh, I just LOVE Buddy! The things he says! Just like Tully. He's never called me a drunk but he has said, "You're f**king nuts! You have a boyfriend?" So bizarre! Gotta love those second hand Greys!! They're the best!!

I had to eat a piece of turkey tonight just to get Bella to try it. I'm thinking she's got other ways for getting a little protine. Carrots and zucchini no problems. Turkey eeeh not quite.

But yes. Share your meals together. They can't resist it.
