Default When do their eyes get lighter?

I was wondering when their eyes lighten up? I noticed the outside edge of Scarlett's are getting lighter, still dark, but definitley noticable. I didn't think they started this early.

Hey I did some research on this awhile ago and here's what I found!

African grey baby parrots will have dark grey to black eyes up until they are about 6 months of age when their eye color starts to lighten. By the time they reach a year, their eyes become a pale grey color. At about 1.5 to 2 yrs their eyes will turn a pale straw color. And lastly at about 3-4 years of age, they will have a light yellow iris. This is one way to be able to determine an estimate of how old a baby is when visiting bird stores. Grey's usually reach maturity at about 4-5 years of age.

Okay, I just went back through Ollie's picture folder, where I have pictures from just about every week of her life. At 15 weeks (3 months, 3 weeks), they are still jet black. Unfortunately, I must have missed a week, because then the pictures jump to 17 weeks. At 4 months, 1 week, (just 2 weeks after having jet black eyes) this is what she looked like:

Here she is at 19 weeks (4 months, 3 weeks):

Here is the 6 month milestone:

Here is 10 months:

Here is 1 year:

And jumping way ahead, here is a picture from about 2 weeks ago so that would put her at about a month and a half shy of 2 years old:

Sydneys eyes are yellow, and he is 4 and a half. Emma's are still greyish. she is 4.... you should start to see little changes around 6 months.

Great photo history Camille!
Tuki will turn one year (I can't believe it!!!) on Monday - April 9th and I have just begun to see that his irises are lightening to a grey-ish yellow now - actually, they look a LOT like Ollie's most recent pic.

He's lost most of that "baby" look about his face...except for the iris color still not being that piercing yellow.

Thanks for the pics Camille. Hers aren't as light as Ollie's first picture yet, but they are getting there. I am going to miss her dark, baby eyes.
