Default We had so much fun today....

Harrison was especially sweet today...I don't know why, but hey, I'm not complaining. She was very playful, silly, talkative, and she was cuddly too. I just wanted to gobble her up...couldn't do that so I snapped some photos. lol. We hung one of her spare swings above her stand in the living room and she was having a ball...today is like the 3rd or 4th day the swing has been up. I know it needs to be trimmed...and cleaned. The photos would be better if the swing looked better but oh well. And...I FINALLy got some photos of her flying...these are the first ever photos of her flying. She's a super pilot.

I hope you enjoyed the photos

The last one is my favorite...I sure wish we were having another great day...oh well. Harrison sure is moody...maybe hormones? She's two years old...is she randy, maybe? I thought two was a bit young for that, but maybe not...I don't know. I'm thinking about asking my vet about a behaviorist...I'm doing something wrong, I can just feel it. She bites too much...she's spoiled...and she pretty much runs the house. It's my fault and I don't know how to get out of it. I love her to death...more than I ever thought I could love an animal. I want to do what's best for her...I just don't know how to go about doing that. She has her 6 month well visit with the vet next month, I'm hoping the vet will perform a miracle. lol. Oh well...thanks for the comments...you guys are great...

Your bird looks excellent - so you are doing lots right for sure. I've always thought Greys were fascinating with their understated look, in a world of brightly coloured parrots. I was lucky to bird sit a Grey [ who is also 2 or a bit older] recently & I can sympathize with spoiling sneaking in & taking over your relationship. I would suggest you review what you would like to change & think of some positive change you could use to turn things around.

What is happening that has you worried? Is it the biting? - cause this is a serious trust issue for you. You might look at how you play [rough?]. Someone who has more experience with these issues might have some ideas that can help you.

I am only saying this as you did sound worried. Harrison is lovely & you appear to be offering a great environment & healthy foods, toys for mental stimulation etc.

I am worried. Thank you for replying. Sometimes she bites while we're playing...I think I misread her signals sometimes and she bites me as a last resort. Most of the time, though, it's like she just switches off. We're having a great time and bam, she's pissed and bites me. No warning or anything. Then there are times when she's playing and I'm near her...she just walks over to some bare skin and bites me. I haven't moved or anything to scare her or anything...it's like it came out of no where. I do spend a lot of 1:1 hands on time with her. I've noticed I get bit more on the weekends when I've had her out of her cage more and we're together more. Maybe I shouldn't be so hands on? She likes to stand on me and snooze sometimes but again, many times she'll just bite me out of no where when we're just sitting, being quiet. She never bites in the mornings...she can spend an hour with me in the bathroom while I'm getting ready for work and we'll have a splendid time. In fact, other than yesterday (in the photos) we usually have the most fun in the bathroom. She's on a homemade T-stand and we just chat and make silly noises. Later, when I get home from work, I'll go to get her out of her cage and she'll act like she doesn't want to come out...then when I go to leave her alone, she'll squeak and kinda stamper like she wants to come out...we go through this a few times and then she'll step up and come out to the living room with me. I guess what I'm trying to say is her biting is mostly unpredictable. Like I said, there are times when I realized I read her signals wrong but most times, I can't figure it out.
