Default TAG Talking??

Hi Everyone.

Does your TAG talk and if so how good? I've heard their talking is not as good as the CAGs talking ability.

Thanks

I've heard that CAGs are better talkers as well. However it's something that I just don't believe. I've seen way to many TAG's that talk up a storm. There is a chance that any African Grey, Cag or Tag, may never talk. You just don't know which baby will end up talking and which one will not.

My little Gracie is a TAG almost 6 months. She says "uh oh" and starting to say hello. She's also starting to mutter things that I can't quite make out. So I think she's going to be a talker.

Most African Greys start to reallyl talk around a year old.

Hope this helps!

My Cag talks much better than my Tag. Boca has a vocabulary of 64 words and six phrases at last count. He holds one sided phone conversations and imitates four differant phone rings and Nextels. Libby says only about 20 words but imitates every sound in the house.

I think it depends on each bird, the amount of time spent with them, how much you talk to them...

I have heard that they are equally as good talkers. Scarlett is still young and she doesn't say much. The few things she has said are so right on when she says them and usually she doesn't repeat them more than once. She does however constantly like to constantly growl/say Doyle's name. Especially when he is bugging her. Those two argue like true siblings. She will pull his tail and he will turn around and yell at her and then she will do a very growl like "Dooooyle" yell, lol. I have no idea why she says it like that because we don't say his name like that at all.

Also the other day when my husband was ruining late to work he ran out the door and then came right back in to pick something up he forgot and as he was right at the door she yelled "Evannnnnnnn" the same way I do if I am calling for him across the house. It stopped him in his tracks, lol.

She also has said these phrases once or twice-
Good Girl
I love you

But she is constantly mumbling and whistling. She is still so young I think she is practicing.

Yes it does, thank you. I also asked my breeder if any of her TAGs talk and they do. So there is a good chance that I could have a talker. Fingers crossed If not, so be it.

That is too funny! Sounds like you may have a talker. Thanks for the reply.
