Default Sprouts

Hi Everyone,

I'm interested in growing my own sprouts for Baxter but have never done this before. Is it safe?

Does anyone grown their own for their greys, what kind do you grow and what method do you use?

Thank you.

I buy them, I have a sprouter and it works but I become afraid of mold growing, also you will need to find a good health food store for the seeds otherwise most of the time the sprouts will not sprout, but rather rot. You can use any of the beans/ lentil they work well as well as broccoli sprouts.

I mentioned sprouts to my breeder and she gives Baxter sprouts ever single day. She will supply me with a some already sprouted and some not so that I can get started. Thanks for your reply.

I have the sprouting kit and Sprouter from SproutPeople - works great. I know it's easy to grow your own, but I need exact instructions so I don't screw it up and SproutPeople gives the exact instructions.

My birds like the sprouts I have fed.

You're welcome. I've also been told by many people that the quality of seeds and beans from SproutPeople is always excellent (and they look very clean to me).

That would be great Cindy, thanks.

I'm the type of person that has the blackest of black thumbs when it comes to growing things and with the concern of mold and sprouts I do need a set of precise instructions so that I don't mess up

wordybirdy, check over under diet I put a thread up called Cindy's Sprouts. Svolk, I know....it took me about a month of reading and getting it all mixed up before I did it. I was using ACV in the rinse and they were smelling like vinegar ugh...so now I only use that kind of stuff for a quick cleaning but rinse it with regular water afterwards. I love Sproutpeople too.
