Default So proud of my big boy!

The past two weeks have been some of the most stressful of my life.'My house is on the market, I packed up my 2 door Honda Accord, loaded my 110lb dog and CAG into the car and drove 11 hours from Washington DC to Jacksonville, FL.

I knew my dog would be annoying, but fine with the trip.
My main concern was Tuki. Of course, I feared that he would get freaked out and perhaps pluck or just become a totally different bird.

Well, I am happy to report that my Tuki Bird was FANTASTIC every step of the way!
He happily munched on bananas and grapes whenever in the car. He ran around and played in the Holiday Inn for hours. And he's been super cuddly and chatty since we got to the temporary apartment! If anything, I feel like we're closer than before!

That's great news! I traveled with my Greenwing from New York to Florida and back again. So I can relate to the stress you feel ahead of time. So glad to hear that Tuki enjoyed it all and is settling in nicely.

Aw good for you, my Ruby gets car sick if she even sees a car, lol.
It's such a big worry less if they travel well and makes the whole thing a pleasurable thing instead of a nightmare.
Good for your baby!

I'm glad it went well! Maybe this will be the turning point in your guys' relationship??! Ollie loves to travel, but we've never gone that far before!

Wow!! That was a long trip! Glad to hear that it went well for you and Tuki -- I absolutely hate moving and moving from state to state is even harder (been there, done that). Bet you are relieved to have that behind you! So how do you like Jacksonville so far ?

Thanks all!

Stizby - I'm really liking Jacksonville so far! Everyone here is so nice! I can't wait for the weather to get a little warmer though.

This was definitely a GREAT bonding experience for us. I think he got so comfortable in the old house/cage that he felt super independent and self-sufficient. He didn't really want or need me.
But he knew he needed me and the unfamiliar is making him look to me for comfort. I like being needed..
