Actually it more than a theory, birds that have a lot of dust do so because of lack of rainfall, and it is that dust that conditions and keeps their feathers clean, much like tiels and toos. So they are not programmed to bath all that often.

No worrys WordyBirdy!, Ira did the same thing when i got her home.

She wouldn't take baths, or get wet.

but on friday, i think it was was the first time she took a bath in my house, she let me mist her too

Same here aswell, she was haveing a ball at the breeders before i took her home.

where are my

grrrr they are required!

Oh good. How long did it take for Ira to settle in?

It took Ira about 3-4 weeks to start acting Normal, she wouldn't eat anything.
for the First 2 weeks if i didn't hand feed her. 2nd week she would pick at her food. She wouldn't touch the pellets. (thats like all she eats >.< now) Then the 3rd week she took a bath, started being silly...like hanging upside down in her gace, swinging around on here rope.....jumping from wall to wall attacking this toy she hangs from.....aggresive kissing...

Who knows how long it will take dozy, she didn't revert to a baby baby.

When are u gonna deliver the

I have another question for you. I noticed that she will hang upside down for about a minute and flap her wings really, really fast. What does that mean? I've also heard her grind her beak which I have been told means that she is content. Is that true? If so, that is such a great feeling.

Ira, did that aswell for awhile, The beak grinding is one of those things i hear all the time.

When you try getting her to go upside down, she flaps, or after you get her upside down. Ira did that alot, be careful ira would bite me real! hard.

now she goes upside down nice and easy now!

I Wish i could talk smart and safisticated like everyone esle tho >.<

Beak grinding = I'm happy, and might fall asleep any minute.
Hanging upside down, flapping vigorously = Still building those wing muscles. Gotta burn some energy, I'm pretty wound up, and might nip. Nothing personal.

ime a month is about right before they start to relax a bit. Also beakgrinding I'd bet you're hearing it at night. It means they want to be asleep...meaning you try and shoot for having them in "bed" before the grinding starts. Since it takes time for the sensor in their brains to "shut down" since it's controlled by light. About 15 min minumum to 30 minutes.

If you can follow a strict natural daylight schedule including dawn and dusk that's the best and most natural. Second choice is to fake it with a dimmer screwed in a low watt bulb small lamp on the floor. Dimming slowly over a half hour. gotta run, sorry
