Default Sexual Behavior

What sort of sexual behavior should I be looking for in a female cag (or any female parrot-I'm sure the behavior isn't really species specific, but correct me if I'm wrong)? Ollie is a few months short of 2 years old, and I think I've been witnessing some things....but I'm not sure.

The classic one with Mercy was the wing droop. She got picked up by her favorite person and the wings would drop, like she was really relaxed, and she would spread them slightly from her body. Love regurgitation usually followed. She did lay eggs two times, and an early indicator of spring behavior was a major increase of shredding and her searching out dark places to play in- looking for suitable places to nest.

Emily,
How long did you have Mercy, I can't remember? Just trying to figure out how long of a period those 2 eggs were layed in.

Keep in mind I am most familiar with macaws.... but Parrot hens generally crouch and display by putting their tail up in the air, sometimes backing up to whatever their affection is directed at.

They also will beak swipe on a surface while crouching, rip up wood/paper, find cubbys, etc.

Isn't Ollie too young? I'm not ALL that familiar with Greys, but generally macaws start later....

I'm not sure when greys become sexually mature, but I think its around 2 years old?

Just in the last few days, Ollie has been doing something new. She's done it like 3 times now. When she's sitting on my hand, she will drop down and press her vent against my hand ever so slightly. I immediately put her on her gym when she does this.

She hasn't been doing any of the other behaviors you guys listed, except regurgitating, which she's done once in awhile for about a year now.

I'm assuming this is a sexual behavior...

Sounds like it. Thats more like what Rosie does- she will drop her vent to my hand and start swishing her tail. Higgins just drops his vent and rubs.

I think AGs mature more around 4 years. I could be off base though, but from what I recall its about 1 year maturity for small birds (cockatiels, etc) 2-3 for medium size (caiques) and 4-5 for larger bird (greys). Some of the larger macaws dont reach maturity until 7 years of age.
