Wow, thank you for all the comments, I'll pass them on to Harrison . The camera is Nikon D40X. It's an entry level DSLR...In a few months, Nikon is releasing the D300 which is the one I really want...I started out with this one to kinda get to know it before I get the D300. I can't wait for the D300. Before this, I had the Konica Minolta 7D. HUGE difference in the way the cameras work...I doubt I'll ever use it again. The Nikon is so much better.

justjoshin, are you doing research so you can get a leopard gecko or are you doing it for school??

I work part time in a pet store, and we had a few babies, I was thinkin of brining one or 2 home, so I did a ton of research on them.. They are cute, but I dont think I'm really a reptile guy.....

Sadly, not lon after, they were all stolen.

Ooh, the D40X is a great camera, and its hard to beat Nikon glass! I've been toying with the idea of upgrading for a while now. I have an old Olympus E10 that's served me well, but its getting to be time to take that step into DSLR. I've been trying to decide between the D40, D40X, or trying to find a D50. I suspect the D300 will be out of my reach.

Great pics!
What kind of lighting are you using? My camera's flash always washes out the picture. If I take a piece of blank paper and fold it in half and put it in front of the flash, it provides a softer, more diffused light but I hate having to do this.
