Can you believe the day is almost here? I have been waiting for this day for months and months. Tomorrow morning I will get up at 4:30am to make the 5hour drive to pick up Dozy
In the carrier is a water bowl, perch, food dish and a soft cushie towel. I will bring foot toys, millet, treats, apples, more towels. Is there anything else I should be bringing with me?
I will report back next week

Great news, I am not sure you want a water dish in a carrier. Dozy will be fine with wet fruit to eat and you can always stop on the way to offer water in a dish from a bottle.

That's very exciting. I'd get a bag of food from the breeder so she gets the same thing she's familiar with. And her body is used to.
And I'd spend some time with her AND the breeder looking at her style. How she picks her up and how she holds her, if she can step up, how she flies etc. So you can mimic it.
And what she's familiar with. Like where she eats, what her bowls look like (example some can be afraid of stainless if they never saw it before)...how long it takes her to eat, and asking how she's used to going to bed. Covered or not, in natural daylight or "late" (but change that, late isn't good and natural daylight is better)....all her husbandry. So you're feeling confident and so the baby isn't more stressed than necessary.
If she covers her you can ask to take the cover with you. And maybe her favorite toy. If the cover's dangerous, change it out when you can....
She didn't eat when I got her home and I assume it was because of everything that was going on. I offered her some veges and she did take a couple bites but not enough. I tried offering her some oatmeal and she wouldn't have it. Right now she is sleeping. Is her not eating pretty normal?
First off- CONGRATS!!! So happy to hear she is finally home! I would let her settle in and see how she is acting tomorrow. She is probably just nervous from the car ride and being in a new home. If she isn't eating tomorrow I would call the breeder. Post some pics when you get a chance, I am dying to see the little cutie!
