Default peeling beak...

I just noticed this morning that Merlin (CAG) has a little piece of his lower beak very close to where it's attached has a little loose looking piece. It looks like when slate breaks layers off. That's normal, right??? Other than that one spot there are no other peely pieces.

Thanks!!!!

Oh, and P.S. He stepped up again!!! I'm so shocked when he does I forget to say "step up". One of these days I'll get it!!!

Beak peeling is normal! Ollie had a horrendous ridge on her upper mandible for quite awhile. It's still noticible, but is a lot smoother now!

Congrats on the stepping up! That is great news!!

Yep, the peeling is normal.....just like your nail peels, the beak is the same. Its made of of lots of layers and when air gets between the layers, it will peel and shale.
Give that Merlin a hug from me. I am so glad you guys found eachother.

Thanks everyone!!! I just wanted to make sure. You'd never believe I've had Bailey and Olivia 2 years with the questions I ask about Merlin BUT everything is SO MUCH BIGGER than those two and much more noticable!

Thanks again!!!

Thanks, Lisa, I'm glad you hooked us up!!!! Every day just gets better and better!
