One GIANT step for Merlin!!! He stepped up last night for the first time EVER to LEAVE his cage!!! Okay, "ever" meaning in his 4 months here but it was huge for me.

He had flown from his cage either Sunday or Monday for some reason and I always let him hang out but this time he got hold of a magazine and had a grand old time ripping it up. When he's ready to go back he just lifts his foot like I'm supposed to know he wants to go back but I figure it out eventually. BUT.... last night we were all sitting in the living room, which is where his cage is, and he likes to sit on the bottom grate when I pull it out and I went over to pick up his toy he had dropped on the floor and give it to him and he lifted up his foot, I offered my hand and he stepped up!!! So what that it was to shred up the latest BirdTalk that I have yet to open but I will call it progress anyway!

He happened to bite hubby 3 or 4 times while napping on the floor but I'm going to just glaze over that.
