In my search for another bird I came across a new ad in the Pennysaver today about these CAG’s. Just out of curiosity I emailed the person and they just emailed me back and said they are looking to rehome their birds (why I don’t know) and they are asking $250 for one CAG with it’s toys and cage and if I want both – yeah right like my hubby would allow that! – I can have both for $400. I am thinking there must be SOMETHING wrong or it’s a scam! He says that they are both very healthy and come with vet records even. I emailed him back asking lots of questions, including WHY are you rehoming them??? I asked him for any more details and more photo’s – other than the ones already listed with the ad. Do you know how tempted I am to get the pair of them! Oh Lord help me! I would not have room to take them both in though. He says they are both great with kids and other pets as well. Hehehehehe I could just see me bringing home two more CAG’s. I could always move my freezer (which I want to move anyways) out into my garage and put their cages on that wall. But then the problem would be how would Riley react to one or even two more grey’s in the household. I was debating on either getting a Meyers or a Senegal, not another CAG. I am waiting for him to email me back and see what his responses are to the multitude of questions I asked. I’ll let you all know what he says when he responds back.

Oh never mind, it’s a scam! They have a 213 area code, which when googled comes up as an unlisted cell phone number and 213 area code is in the LA area here in CA. He responded back to me and said he is closing his bird farm and wants to relocate and the birds would have to be shipped from Cameroon. Yeah right, you have to ship them from another country, but you have a local area code. I am going to report this ad right now!

Oh boy! - it is pretty weird what's out there. A big wake-up call.

I think this is a good time to really think about what you want & can accommodate with your 2 guys, before looking at any more ads. I do know about this want thing. But always remind yourself about what you want to keep: your bird's health & your sanity & marriage.
