Default Odd behavior for jazz

Another concern for my boy..... Normally every morning when i uncover jazz he is out and ready to get the party started but yesterday all he wanted to do is stay upstairs in his sleep cage and chill. I looked at his stool and it looked normal so i just let him hang out until about 1pm. He did a little chattering but was fairly quiet all day.

This morning i awoke to his chatter under his cover, he came out, pooped and went back inside. I made him come out and go down to his day cage so i could watch him. He was pretty vocal for awhile, ate his mash and now is just sitting being quiet.

We had people in the yard working on the pool a few days ago and i am not sure if this stressed him by seeing them. I did not really see him as stressed.

I was half way tempted on taking him to the vet but i know they would start with blood draws and stressing him more. This seems like a behavior to me. He eats and drinks normal it just wanting to stay upstairs, not playing or chattering as usual.

I'm worried about my boy!

Just keep an eye on him. Pay attention to how much he is sleeping, if he is fluffed up, if he preens, if he seems to be uncoordinated or clumsy or in pain, how much he is eating and drinking, look for discharge from his nares, eyes, ears, cloaca. If you see anything that concerns you, by all means, make an appt at the vet. Always remember that, by the time we see the first symptom, they have been real sick for a long time.

I am sorry you are worried. Birds are so hard to figure out sometimes. What Bea said sounded good to me! Give him beakie kisses from us and tell him Ruby says "step-up!"

Thanks so much for your help. Jazz seems to be a little more himself today. I left the house at 7:30 and returned at 2:30 so maybe he got a little more rest. You know, it was not too long after his nail trimming and wing clipping that he started this...maybe that is it!

(i gave him his beakie kisses and he sends them right back atcha! Its funny, he gives my hubby and the dog night night kisses)
