There is going to be enough red tape to take the 2 we have with us...let alone a third. HOWEVER, I have warned him that if we are to stay...haha...I will be getting one within the year.

As for how Ruby would feel...everyone is right in saying that it's much like kids. Maple accepted Harley fairly quickly and fairly well. You must be careful to give Ruby lots of one on one attention and ALWAYS monitor them together. Never introduce until quarantine is over, and always when your vet office is open..JUST IN CASE!! My two are on a pretty even playing feild but of course Ruby is going to be a good bit larger then a grey so a little extra care there too. I think she will understand.

Do what your heart tells you!

you are a good egg! Thanks!

Wait - I have to be the one to say it. [am I a good egg?] I'm thinking about Ruby.

Maybe you could offer to bird sit that woman's Grey? - I had so much fun doing that. I also love my lads on their own & even tho they didn't get to meet Bunny - they were jealous of the time I was spending with her. Laker was kind of crabby about it & Rio was in my face a lot more. - then there was the competitive calling. Budgies are noisy little guys & we weren't getting any time outs around here when Bunny was visiting - no naps or quiet times - at least that's how it felt.

In the back of my mind the dust issues & Macaws sends up a red flag.....

I love so many creatures - I am having issues with rescue dogs these days - but I know, now is not the time - maybe later. *sigh*

It must have been a lot of fun meeting the woman & her Grey.

Jessalyn, I had Kady here as an only child for 10 months before I got Kita. While I feel it's definitely harder juggling two I do feel it's better for both of them to have some visual company of their own kind. I think had Kita not joined us I would have spoiled Kady way too much, which wouldn't have been good for him in the long run. My two don't care to interact together physically, but I know they do visually like each others company. Now they both know the routine and are used to sharing my time so jealousy issues only pop up once in a while.

You certainly could offer a wonderful loving home to a bird that needs one. I think you and Ruby have plenty of love to go around. Ruby says "Step Up" Mom!

Know what you mean about the spoiled part! It may be too late!
