Default Foolin Around with the Camera

Hi Everyone,

Here are some pictures of Dozy that I took in the last few days. Also, here is the cage I bought for her for our trip in July. The cage measurements are
16"d x 22"w x 26"h. Is this too big to be considered a travel cage? I want her to have some room to move around and not feel so cramped. Also, The top opens which I thought was kinda cool.

Hi Jessalyn,

Managed to snap a picture when she wasn't chewing on her harness.

We had to find a chair that was relatively small because the room is kinda small. It fit the bill nicely. Thanks!

She's gorgeous! Great looking travel cage, very similar to Ollie's. A tip: Get some plastic crocks with tops on them so that water stays more contained. I put them at the top of the cage so that she can't poop in them. Here's what I have for Ollie: Clean Cup Feeders/Waterers: Convenient & economical food & water dishes for pet birds. I think I have the medium size because I'm sure I've seen some that are just huge- much bigger than what I have, and much bigger than necessary for travel food and water dishes.

Then I wired the little food doors shut so she can't open them and escape.

Also, definitely get rid of the wooden dowels, and put in perches that are bigger and have a better grip for Dozy. I think car trips are a good time to put in a pedicure perch (I use sandyperch), because with all the moving around the nails get filed down. It also has excellent grip.

Great advice! Thanks. Will do.

What a sweety pie! I bought a harness for Jazz my tag but no attempts to put it on him yet.... I just know he would let my fingers have it! Any advice?

I wish my breeder started Dozy earlier than she did. Start as soon as you can. You first have to be able to touch and handle Jazz. Use positive reinforcement and be consistent. Try different harnesses to see which one Jazz prefers. I tried the Kaylor Collar and now I'm trying the Aviator Harness. I already like the Aviator Harness better - I just think it fits better and I like the elastic leash. Once you get Jazz in his harness take him outside. I find that Dozy will stop biting temporarily when she is outside because of all the distractions - she forgets temporarily that she has the harness on. It's definitely a work in progress. I refuse to give up. Good luck.
