I finally got him home! It went extremely smooth. I have a cat and a dog that I was worried was going to be trouble. Both the cat and the dog sat cheek to cheek together watching Ollie roam around the cage.
At first I set Ollie in his cage on the bottom since I figure this is where he will likely spend most of is first few hours. He willingly stepped off my finger in the cage without a fus and looked around for the first 10 minutes, but then began to climb around exploring his new home. I was amazed at how fast he took to the new home and toys! After a while, he found his food and water and took to it right away. He started to play with everything in his cage and got around very well. I was a bit concerned for him when he was upside down hanging from the ceiling, thinking he could loose his grip at any second, but he did jest fine without any intervention.
Here are some camera phone photos:
I know you are not supposed to smother them with more attention that you can consistently provide, but it is extremely difficult not to!!
