Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to give you an update on Dozy. Do you think she's settling in nicely? Look at the pictures and decide. She is doing fantastic!!!! She is such a joy! I am really enjoying her. I rush home after work to be with her and she gets excited to see me when I walk in the door!!! She is such a good sport and very calm and isn't afraid of much. New toys don't phase her, going places in the car or just for a walk don't phase her. She can entertain herself or be with me either way she is happy. At about 7:00pm she likes to burrough herself in my faux fur blanket while watching TV. I don't want her to change .

She is making whistles and noises now but IMO still quiet. I think my tiel may be just a bit jealous Dozy is used to other bird species and seems to want to get along with my tiel but I don't think my tiel feels the same way.

I've leared a few lessons since she has been with us. Lesson one was when she flew into my back door (glass) Thank God she didn't hurt herself. Lesson two is when she escaped her cage thru the food doors I have since put locks on the locks!!!
She is a clutz!!!! IMO I think being clipped is more dangerous that being flighted and I'd rather her be flighted and her fly with agility than to be clipped and fly with little control and possibly get hurt. She doesn't fly from me and it appears that not much seems to startles her.

I noticed the same thing when Jerry and Lulu were clipped - they had such little control over their flight that they were more prone to crashing and getting hurt.

It sounds like she's settling in great - love the pics, she looks relaxed. Good to see that she's keepin' you on your toes too

Yep she looks excellent and sounds totally settled in. She looks like she's lived there forever! Cute purple suit too LOL.

Thanks so much for not overreacting to her flight mishap. IT's so important to get that exercise and she'll be alot more confident like she is now with her full wings. And I agree Greys can be clumsy and being clipped not having full balance doesnt help.

It'll be fun watching her progress.

My thoughts exactly. It's been so long since Ollie has crashed into anything, even when she's spooked. However, today she was playing on top of the table a bit too close to the edge, slipped, grabbed the placemat, and down they both went to the floor (carpeted), Ollie under the placemat. Yep, they can definitely have their clumsy moments!
